One of my goals for this year is to stop wasting time and be totally laser-focused when it comes to my work. When it comes to Instagram, it is so easy to get distracted and fall into the habit of endless scrolling.
Another habit I was guilty of is checking Instagram before bed and losing sleep. Yikes, not good! I want to share a few tips that have been working for me and can definitely work for you when it comes to being laser focus on Instagram.
How to be Laser-Focused on Instagram:
What REALLY Works
1. I got a paper planner.
Yes, the old school planner! I still use my Google Calendar for appointments, but on my paper planner, I write down my goals for the day.
For example, I write down for that day that my goal is to post one time, engage for 30 minutes, and share 3 stories.
Yours can be a little different, but my point is, once you write your daily goals down it’s much easier to stick to them! Plus, there is something about writing things down on a paper that just makes your goals feel more real.
I am using The Superwoman journal to write my goals down and I love it! It also has a gratitude section where I can write down what I am thankful for at the end of each day as part of my night routine. To get the journal to click here .
2- I stopped wasting time on Instagram.
That sounds crazy, right? After all, Instagram is my work, but scrolling with no purpose is not. It only leads to comparison, which makes everybody feel at their worst. Now when I am on Instagram I am very intentional. I am either working on my account or my clients’ accounts.
Another super important tip when it comes to wasting time on Instagram: I DO NOT check my phone before bed anymore. Sleep is so important, and the scrolling we do before bed usually keeps us awake. I charge my phone in another room so if I wake up in the middle of the night I don’t feel tempted to take a peek at my phone.
3- I stick with my priorities.
This is not only related to Instagram, but it’s important to mention.
My priorities are my:
- Rental health
- Physical health
What are your priorities? Write them down and make sure these are the areas you should focus on. Life is too short to focus and do things we aren’t in love with
I hope these are helpful! If you want to take the next step and have an Instagram strategy session with me to get crystal clear on your social media goals and how to achieve them, head over to my page and let’s talk!
