Loyalty is a two way street, especially when it comes to social media influencers and their followers. As an Instagram influencer, your followers are your audience. They’re here for you and what you have to offer. Don’t disappoint them!
Imagine standing on a stage, spotlight and all. As you look out into the audience, you see one person. Or maybe you see a dozen…. Or hundred. You name it. But what do all these scenarios have in common? Each spectator is supporting you! Would you give the same amount of dedication and passion to the hundreds of audience members as you would with the one audience member? Of course! The amount of social media influencers in today’s society is overwhelmingly countless. Of all the options these followers have, they stuck by your side. And will continue to do so if gratitude and loyalty are mutual. Here are a few ways to do so!
Just a simple thank you goes a long way. You know what they say, it’s the thought that counts! Even if it’s something simple like expressing your gratitude for your followers on your Insta story or offering discounts for birthdays or holidays, your followers will feel appreciated and noticed. We all get a little sentimental sometimes. Why not show it to the ones that matter most?
Publicly make note of milestones. When you reach 100 followers, post a thank you. When you reach a 1000 followers, post a thank you. When you reach 1 million, post a thank you! Each and every loyal follower has been along this wild journey with you. They have seen you grown and reach wider audiences. You are where you are because of them.
Offer a question and answer session. (You can do this through the Instagram story feature) It doesn’t have to be all business! Don’t be afraid to have fun and step out of your comfort zone. This can allow your audience to see you in a different, more personal light. They may find you have a lot in common with them, which could result in more reasons to continue supporting you.
Show you’re listening. Be active in your comment section. Reply to compliments and questions. When asking for your followers’ input on something, regard the feedback – good and bad. It shows you care and truly want to improve your service. This all is especially attainable when your following is smaller.
Remember that social media is all about relationships. Cultivate meaningful relationships with your followers and they will become your fans.
