Instagram is such a great tool for businesses of all sizes. To put the potential into perspective, let me give you a few statistics from Instagram directly:
More than 1 billion Instagram accounts worldwide are active every single month.
More than 500 million Instagram accounts worldwide are active every single day.
80 percent of all accounts follow a business on Instagram.
That is an insanely huge audience! That’s a billion people you could possibly influence. Isn’t it amazing that your small business’s brand could reach across several oceans to people on the other side of the planet? If that isn’t enough to convince you, I’ve outlined my top four reasons for why you should jump on the Instagram bandwagon below:
Make Connections: Instagram is the perfect place to build your network. Honestly, there are so many ways connecting with both individuals and businesses could bring value to your company, that it should be its own blog post.
As a business owner, some of your best marketing is through word of mouth. By putting your brand out into the social media stratosphere, you’re enabling people to talk about your services and share your products with their friends and family. Then those friends and family might share it with their friends and family, and that’s the power of networking.
It could also benefit you greatly to connect with other brands. Many partnerships have come out of individuals and companies building relationships online.
Build Your Brand: I’m going to assume that you already know how important it is for your business to have a brand. Your brand is your image and it is what people think of when they hear and see your name. What better way to enhance your image than with photographs? It’s up to you on what exactly you want to share, whether it is photos of your product or photos behind the scenes of your successful operation, or maybe it is both! Consumers love putting a face to the name because it makes you seem more personal and approachable. If someone can identify with your personality or cause then they are more likely to become a follower and customer.
Stay Current: If everyone, specifically your competitors, are on Instagram but you aren’t, you are behind the curve. The industry is constantly changing and the only way to stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices is to immerse yourself in its culture. A brand that is outdated is just unfortunately not going to be as successful.
It’s Fun: Instagram doesn’t have to be intimidating or labor intensive. You can have great success with minimal effort, it’s all about having the right system in place. It’s legitimately fun to make connections with people from across the globe who have similar thoughts and interests. Bonus: It feels pretty great when a happy customer posts about you, or tags your business in a review.
