It’s easy to get caught up in the big picture and forget to take the small steps that are key in helping you grow your Instagram. So today I want to share 3 easy and actionable tips you can do to grow your Instagram this weekend.
There’s a lot of input out there in the world telling you what to do to grow your account – like showing up on stories every day, planning out a month’s worth of content, engage on all the posts, etc.
While these are very true, those are also big actions and can be very overwhelming, almost to the point where we are scared to get started because of how frightening it sounds!

Some of these tips I’ll be sharing might be old news to you, or maybe they are tips you’ve heard before but you haven’t taken the step to begin. I encourage you to be open-minded as you continue reading and have full confidence in yourself as you take action this weekend!
Engage through Dms
Most of us picture “engagement” as leaving comments on posts and engaging in the comments of posts in the form of Likes. Instead, try engaging through Dms this weekend.
How do you do this? Send them a direct message mentioning a recent post they posted, and make that personable connection.
When your Dm lands in someone’s inbox it’s WAY more personable and direct! It’s easy for a comment to get lost in the loooong strand of comments under a post, so be the one to add a more personal touch by showing up in someone’s inbox for a change.
This weekend, take 15 minutes, find a hashtag that your ideal client uses, and find someone who fits your ideal client’s profile!
Take a look at their account to confirm that you would love to work with them and send them a DM about something recent that they have posted. Don’t forget to introduce yourself, and then complement their content.
This is a much more powerful technique than simply leaving a comment on a post. It communicates intentionality, thoughtfulness, and personable motives. So, take the actionable and more personal approach!
Plan Your Content
I know this doesn’t sound fun, and you probably want to curse at me, but just hear me out first… I’m not saying to go sit down and plan our your content for the entire week – although yes, that will benefit you greatly. But I get it, you’re SUPER BUSY! Like me, you probably don’t have time for that most weeks.
I don’t want you to overwhelm yourself. I’m simply asking you to go open a new Note or Google Document and commit yourself to write out content for just the days you’re going to post – not the days you WANT to post, but for the days that you WILL post and make it happen.
One way to make this commitment happen is to schedule it into your calendar, or my favorite, download an app that will allow you to create and schedule the content in advance! I love using Planoly to auto-schedule my IG content for the week. Other social media scheduling programs include Later, Buffer, and Hootsuite.
Each of these programs offer a free version, so check them out and decide which one is the best fit for you.
The best place to start with content planning is to pick out 4 images and create a post for each. Auto-schedule your 4 posts for next week and get it done this weekend!
You don’t have to kill yourself trying to come up with content either. Scroll back into last year or two years ago and find the four posts that performed the best. Take inspiration from that and remake 4 new posts. If you’re auto-scheduling, don’t forget to schedule your hashtags to auto-post as your first comment.
Try Doing Something Different
This last tip might take a little longer than the first two but I’m telling you, it works! Maybe you’ve been thinking about going Live, posting to IGTV, creating a Reel, or doing a challenge? Pick one thing that scares you to death, and just do it!
Doing something new that you don’t typically show up on Instagram to so will increase your visibility! This especially applies to you if you’ve been stuck or noticed a plateau in growth.
Do something out of the ordinary. Grab your follower’s attention, be creative, and have fun with it!
Come Monday, you shouldn’t have to worry or stress about your content for the week. All of this should take you maybe an hour to do, but then you’re done and you don’t have to worry about it!
Following these 3 things, this weekend, will help you grow your Instagram, get visible and get more followers. If you’re showing up, you’re going to get that growth.
Comment below how you are going to newly show up for your followers!
Love,
Monica
