It’s no secret that Reels are exploding on Instagram and continuing to become even more popular for business owners, influencers, bloggers, etc. Some people have mixed feelings about Reels and some people love them! Instagram didn’t gift me the “Reels” option in my content menu until recently, but after doing my own research about Reels content and understanding the meaning of the analytics behind “views” and “Likes”, I have come up with 10 Instagram Reel ideas to help you grow your business! Are you ready?

We’re gonna have a little fun here today as I help you brainstorm and start planning your next Reel (or maybe your FIRST one)! Either way, you’re going to leave here with 10 Instagram Reel ideas to help you grow your business and show up for your audience like never before.
Introduce Yourself
Introduction Reels are a fun way to welcome new followers and share a little about yourself. People are nosy and they care about all of those details. Your followers want to know who they are entrusting their time to and what you’re going to do with their time and they continue to follow you and your business account.
An introduction Reel can be done in a few different ways. The most popular way to introduce yourself is to tell your name, type of business, who you serve, when you started your business, hobbies, a fun fact, and then encourage them to ask you questions in the comments. It’s as simple as uploading your video, adding background music, and adding a typed caption to each piece of information you share about yourself/business.

Office Check/Show Your Work Space
As a small business owner, it’s often practical to have a home office space to give you the freedom and flexibility for creation. Show us your creative side by giving everyone a little peek at your unique office space! Maybe you keep specific things in your office for a purpose or maybe you have a random/odd set-up because that’s what works best for you. Whatever it is, inspire us and let us see it!
Give the Reel some captions that tell us what you have in your office and why. Some business owners even go as far as linking some of their office purchases because they know people might be interested in where they bought things.
Let us see your creative space and be a little nosy!
3 Steps To Help You…
This Reel idea is a no-brainer because not only does it provide the opportunity for you to promote your services, but it gives your followers a free tool or piece of advice to utilize right now. Use this Reel as an opportunity to share insight into your paid services. Things like “10 free content ideas”, “3 steps to help you make money on Instagram”, “how to get 2x your IG story views”, etc.
Give your audience a little bit of free content!
Meet My Team
Show your team some love by creating a Reel all about them! Take their photo or video them in action, add some background music, and put captions telling us each person’s name and job title. You could even put a spin on it and add in a fun fact about them as well!
A “meet my team” Reel adds a personal touch to the business scene as you personalize and praise each individual for the part they play in your business.
“Yup, Nope…”/Answer an FAQ
Have you ever come across assumptions or misconceptions people have about your business niche or industry? Well, now’s your chance to address those misconceptions with the truth! Tell them what you’re all about and how you are helping bring solutions to the problems out there.
Check out this video for a compilation of “yup, nope” Reels and take that inspiration to your Instagram account.
How it Started vs. How it’s going
We all face successes and failures as business owners, but that is how we learn and grow. If you have examples of how you started vs. how it’s going, use this Reel idea! Be part of normalizing growth and the necessary things that often come along with the growth.
Make it fun by showing real-life scenarios of how it was going smooth (or at least you thought) and how it ended up playing out. Remind your audience that real-life is the most real and perfection is nowhere close to what people experience in the daily grind.
Expectations vs. Reality
This Reel idea is similar to the previous one. Share a photo or video Reel of what you thought something in your business was going to be like and then transition to what’s really happening. This can be a fun way to make fun of false expectations and also normalize the craziness of real life.
Share Small Tips
As a business owner or influencer, you have the power of social media at your fingertips. Take this opportunity to create a Reel that shares a small tip about something you’ve learned along the way in your business journey, a small tip that reflects a service you provide, or something tangible that your audience can take and use right away.
Everyone loves free tips and tools so run with it and engage in the comments about it answering further questions and addressing thoughts.
Share the Tools You Use
Are there business tools or programs you can’t live without? Like they’re the bread and butter to making your business run smoothly. If so, tell your audience about it! Caption it with a catchy title like “3 Free Tools You Need For (blank)” and share away.
The best part about sharing about these tools and programs is that you can often request an affiliate link for them and get perks when people sign up using your link.
Share Quick and Encouraging Messages
Whether your business is young or old, you’ve learned a thing or two. Create a Reel with a quick and encouraging message to inspire other business owners who are just a few steps behind you. Learning is how we grow!
